Send files on a slow or unstable connection
When the network is slow or drops without warning, sending a heavy file becomes an ordeal. G-Transfert was built for exactly that: the upload resumes automatically where it stopped.

The problem with uploads on an unstable connection
On most services the upload is a single block: if the connection drops at 90%, everything is lost and you send the whole file again, which also burns through your data plan.
What G-Transfert does
- The file is split into 2 MB chunks sent one after another.
- After a drop, the upload resumes automatically as soon as the network is back, with several spaced-out retries.
- If you reload the page and select the same file again, the upload also continues from where it stopped.
- A progress ring shows the progress and the megabytes already sent.
Tips for limited connections
- Compress the file (a .zip archive) when possible.
- Close other apps that use the network during the upload.
- Keep the page open until the link appears.
- Pick a place where the signal is most stable.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on 3G?
Yes, it is designed to tolerate low speeds and drops. The slower the connection, the longer it takes, but it never restarts from zero.
Do I need to stay on the page during the upload?
Yes, keep the page open. If it closes, reopen it and select the same file again to resume.
Does it use more data?
No: only the missing chunks are sent again after a drop, so the whole file is not re-sent.
